A lesson in classics

C. L. Max Nikias teaches freshman seminar

For incoming first-year students at USC, their academic experience includes special lectures from unexpected guests—for this freshman seminar class, their year began with a lesson in classics from USC President C. L. Max Nikias. The students began their year with a study of the Greek play Antigone, exploring themes of war, moral authority, female empowerment, and a citizen’s obligations to the laws of society.
