Dr. Wanda M. Austin is interim president of the University of Southern California. She has served on the USC Board of Trustees since 2010.
She is internationally renowned for her work in aeronautics and systems engineering. Her career at the Aerospace Corporation spanned nearly four decades, including eight years as the company’s president and CEO.
She is a member of the Defense Policy Board, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the National Academy of Engineering.

USC Interim President Wanda M. Austin is an internationally renowned leader, engineer, and businesswoman known for her work in aeronautics and systems engineering.
She is the former president and CEO of the Aerospace Corporation, an organization dedicated to the development of science and technology for the American space enterprise.
Dr. Austin is a devoted advocate for STEM education and a prominent civilian defense consultant. She has served our nation as a member of the Defense Policy Board and the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering. She earned her doctorate from the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, and has served on the USC Board of Trustees since 2010.
